A Short Story

In 2014 I obtained my Open Water Diver certificate in Croatia. After that I didn’t dive for several years and in 2017 I started diving again. I was able to further develop myself in the field of diving. I subsequently obtained my SSI Divemaster certification in 2020, my SSI Open Water Instructor certification in 2021 and my Classified Diving Instructor certification in 2022 at BlackFish Dive Center where I was trained in an excellent way and assisted by Levent Atil, SSI Assistant Instructor Trainer of BlackFish Dive Center.

Besides Double Dutch Divers and All Stars Diving Foundation, about which more below, I often lend a hand at Kiwi Watersport and Active Blue Diving Center in Kusadasi. This is because I spend a lot of time of the year in Kusadasi with my wife and I want to keep the dive level of my skills high, and because I enjoy introducing people to this fantastic sport!

Double Dutch Divers

After I obtained my Open Water Diver certificate in 2014, diving came to a standstill for several years. I have now become an active diver. My wife has also made good progress in the field of diving in recent years. Precisely because we are so actively involved in diving, we wanted to go public with it. As a result, the name Double Dutch Divers was started and we therefore come out with our diving activities together under this name! All Stars Diving

I’m also initiator of the All Stars Diving Foundation. As a former police officer of The Hague Police Unit in the Netherlands, with the help of the board, Paul founded the foundation as a result of a long personal battle against Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) that got a positive turn by diving. After a long period of reflection and a lot of research into comparable initiatives in America (Ministry of Veterans), the conviction has arisen that diving therapy works, helps and is possible in the Netherlands.
